Jaipur: Anticipating the third wave, the state government on Thursday prohibits sales and rupture of firecrackers.
The decision was taken considering the impact of the country in Covid patients and those who suffered from heart and breathing disease.
The Main Secretary (House) Abhay Kumar in a command stated last year also a decision was taken after it was found that poisonous smoke emitted by crackers was a health hazard for people who suffered from various diseases.
Last year, the Department of Medicine at the Sawai Hospital Man Singh had written a letter to the Principal who highlighted the impact of crackers in Covid and other patients.
The letter honed the warning that firecrackers could have a very serious impact on those suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma and recommended a complete ban on crackers.
“It is recommended to license authorities that take health as a priority, no temporary license for firecrackers must be issued,” Kumar said in its order.
Prohibition will take effect from October 1 to January 31, 2022
