Jaipur: The State Health Department estimates that there is enough stock to start vaccinating children who meet the requirements aged 15 to 18 years.
There are more than 51 lakh children like that in the state and they have the choice to use Covaxin according to central guidelines.
Parents do not need to worry because the state government has sufficient stock to start vaccinating children from January 3, officials said.
According to them, when vaccination drives slowed in October and November, many doses were available.
“We have around 40 doses of Covid vaccine vaccines, from those around 17 doses lakh is covaxin.
It can be used to vaccinate children,” said a senior health department official.
The vaccine will be distributed throughout the country, the official said, added that more doses would be supplied by the center as needed.
Since school opening many children has been infected by the virus.
Vaccination will now help normalize education in schools and is expected to reduce doubts between parents in sending children to educational institutions.
In November, 35 children under 18 years were found infected by Covid.
After school starting offline classes, the health health department increases the collection of samples from the school.
When children were diagnosed with Covid in November, parents raised their fears and demanded schools continue with online classes.
After this, the state government allows schools to conduct online and offline classes.
“We have more than 51 lakh children who are included in the age group 15-18.
We have enough vaccines to start drives for children from January 3.
We have also received guidelines from the Children’s Centers,” said Dr.
