Rajamudi Rice’s price soared because of the demands of a surge

MySuru: The price of Rajamudi Rice varieties has risen, because demand for increasing during locking.
Rajamudi rice which is not polished is one of the traditional varieties of rice in the old Mysuru area.
This is mainly planted in the Kr Nagar Taluk and Hassan district.
Farmers say that the production of rice varieties is less than its demand, which grows.
According to farmers and suppliers, the price of KG Rajududi Rice around Rs 37 to RS 38 per kg last year, which is now sold between Rs 44 to Rs 50 per kg.
“There are no other rice varieties that witness such a price increase,” said C K Ganesh, President Merchant Mysore Grain Association.
“Other rice varieties recorded a price increase of Rs 2-Rs 3 per kg, because rice was bought from the Hyderabad-Karnataka region, because of the increase in gasoline and diesel prices for transportation,” he said.
According to regular users of this rice variety, at the beginning of last year, the kg of Rajamudi costs which were not picked up RS 37.
“But now it is sold for Rs 50 per kg in the retail market.
Some farmers from Hassan supply rice for Rs 44 to Rs 45 per kg “Shrimati Kundur said, regular users of rice varieties.
“On some e-commerce platforms that sell organic products, are being sold for above Rs 60 per kg,” he said.
Nagaraj D T, a farmer from Dasanakoppal village in Holenarasipur in Hassan district, said that this rice variety was planted only in several villages in Mysuru and Hassan District.
“Previously, this request for rice was only from MySuru.
However, it is now in demand throughout the country,” he said.
Nagaraj, fostered Rajamudi rice varieties in his fields, and supplied it on his request.
“More people shift to consume Rajamudi rice because it’s good for health,” he said.
