Ranchi: A 40-year-old man who serves a life sentence in Birsa Munda’s center prison in Hotwar here since 2017, managed to provide its security guard and escape from the Intensive Care Unit of the Rajendra Medical Sciences (REG) on Sunday morning.
The prisoner, which was identified as Krishna Mohan Jha, was a native population of the Bihar Muzaffarpur district.
He is also known as Abhay and Vikas.
He has been sentenced to life imprisonment after being found guilty in the case of kidnapping and murder in the area of Pandra Ranchi, a case listed under the Sukhdeo Nagar police station.
Jha was hospitalized on August 28 and was under a constant watch from two policemen.
On Sunday morning, Jha looked for permission to go to the bathroom and escape, said the source.
