Vadodara: Raju Bhatt, the trustee of the Pavagadh Temple accused of raping a law student, taken to a different place on Saturday where he was hiding while running.
Police officials said that the police team took Bhatt to Ahmedabad.
During the interrogation Bhatt had admitted that he had fled to Ahmedabad while being runaway, said the source.
“He gave the details of the place he visited and the people he met.
Our officials investigated whether there were those who directly or indirectly helped when he was in the run,” said an official.
Police officers said that the police team took Bhatt to Ahmedabad where he claimed to be hidden while the police were looking for it after registration of FIR.
“He gave the details of the place he went and met.
Our officials investigated if anyone directly or did not directly help him during these days,” said an official.
After his arrest, Bhatt claimed that he went to Mumbai, Ahmedabad and then to Junagadh from where he was arrested.
Meanwhile, the police had issued a call to several people including realtors and people from outside Vadodara to be questioned in connection with this case.
“Our team has called many people because we want to record their statements.
They have been called not because they are being suspected but because their names have emerged during the investigation,” the official said.
