Vadodara: Eighteen days after he was ordered to rape a 24-year-old girl, hiring an accountant Ashok Jain was arrested from the city of Palitana in Bhavnagar on Thursday.
The police said that Jain 69-year was caught from the temple city on the basis of footwalk-off and CCTV.
The police have also been caught by alpesh vadhwani alias al-Alpu Sindhi maker, which is a key witness in this case.
“We have received information that Jain has recently been in Vadodara in disguise below that we deployed our team to track it.
Meanwhile, he slipped to Ahmedabad and from there he went to Dholera before reaching Palitana.
Our team met him in the cottage in Palitana on Thursday morning, “said D chau, ACP (crime).
Jain was taken to the city on Thursday afternoon and he also underwent a quick covid test which turned out to be negative.
“We have arrested him and he will be produced before the court on Friday,” Chauhan Toi said.
Officials investigated said that they would now get important instructions in the case of rape as defendants and reporter statements that conflict with each other.
“Jain will be asked about a spy camera installed at the girl’s residence and a memory card that has all the data.
He will also be asked about places where he lives while running and who helped him, “the police added.
Meanwhile, the Alpu Sindhi liquor maker was caught along with his friend Dharmesh aka Golu by the branch of crime from housing colonies in Gurgaon in Haryana on Thursday.
He wants in the case of a ban but the crime branch has been looking for him as Sindhi is a friend of rape victims and key witnesses in this case.
The girl has mentioned Sindhi in her statement to the police before.
The police have arrested Raju Bhatt, the defendant in the rape case, along with his friend Kanji Mokariya, who helped him to escape from the city.
The girl, who was studying the law at a private university in the city, had filed a complaint of rape against Jain and Bhatt at the Gotri Police Station last month.
He alleged that Jain, in the company he underwent training, his barbed drinking and maintaining it.
He then visited his residence again and raped him.
Bhatt was too accused of raping the girl and threatened her consequences.
