Mumbai: The Indian Meteorology Department (IMD) has issued a red warning for Palghar, Raigad and Thane a very heavy rain warning in isolated places very likely for September 28.
Orange warning for Mumbai for the same date (September 28) was issued by the department, a severe warning to very heavy rain in isolated places.
For Monday, the yellow warning has been issued, the warning of heavy rain in Thane, Palghar and Mumbai.
And the orange warning for Raigad has been issued.
Officials said that the storm of the Kulab cyclone in the northwest and side by side with the Bay of West Bengal moved almost to the west at a speed of 18 kmpt on Sunday.
The Berab cyclone is being monitored by the Doppler weather radar in Visakhapatnam.
Shubhangi Bhute, IMD scientists say that the Cyclon Storm Gulab formed on Saturday night is likely to move almost to the west and cross the South Odisha coast of Andhra Pradesh between Kalingapatnam and Gopalpur on Sunday night.
“Because heavy rains coupled with strong and tight winds tend to be witnessed in Maharashtra.
On September 27 Vidarbha and Maratwada can be influenced when on September 28, Madhya Maharashtra and Konkan will witness the engine’s activities.
Therefore citizens are asked to take precautions,” said Bhute .
Because of the rough and intense wind conditions, fishermen have been advised not to explore the sea.
