Hyderabad: Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy wrote a letter to Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao stating some more delayed railway projects in Telangana due to ‘lack of cooperation from the state government’ as he called it.
Kishan Reddy said that there was a weakness on the part of the state government related to the project even MMTS Phase-2.
He explained that the state had contributed just 129 CR when the part is 760 cr.
Though the Railway Board has agreed to extend the MMTS connecting under Phase-2 to Yadadri at the request of the state government, the project should not be taken off because it has not contributed its share of the cost of two-third of the Minister, who represents Secunderabad in the Lok Sabha, said: , In a letter written on Monday, he said the TRS leaders have alleged that the center was not releasing funds for railway projects in the state.
“The fact is that the state government itself does not release the share of funds for not completing land acquisition for railway projects,” he said.
Kishan Reddy said in the last seven years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the allocation for the railway project by the center have increased nine times.
He pointed out that while the budget allocated is 250 CR for railway projects in Telangana during 2014-15, the allocation is 2,420 CR in 2020-21.
Increased rail network was 194 route kilometers.
“If the state who donated part and completed the acquisition of land, there will be a much greater progress,” he said.
Union Minister cites examples where the state government has not issued responsibilities.
“To Manoharabad-Kothapalli New Railway Line at 151 km, the state government is to bear one-third of the cost and supply of land, but the 100 CR is caused by the government and 342 hectares of land have not been submitted for the construction of the railway line,” he said.
While 54 road over the bridge has been approved for Telangana, in many cases, he alleges that there is not enough cooperation received from Telangana in connection with the withdrawal of consent and other technical issues.
