The Lahiri family said in a statement that his death was “a very sad moment” for us.
“We are looking for love and blessings for his soul,” said his wife and two children.
Veteran actress Reena Roy who has worked with BAPPI in two films recently opened about musicians.

He told Etime, “I have done two films with Bappi Lahiri – ‘Madhosh’ (1974) and ‘Zakhmee’ (1975).
He found as a very good son to his mother and father.
He was very innocent.
Even when we shot in some outside locations, he used to come with his mother all the time.
He is very talented, no doubt.
‘Jalta Hai Jiya Mera Bheegi Bheegi Raaton Mein’ from ‘Zakhmee’ is an unforgettable song for me.
God blessed his soul.

After his death, the BAPPI family DA released an official statement of reading, “This is a very sad moment for us.
Cremation will take place on the arrival of Bappa from La Tomorrow mid morning, we are looking for love and blessings for his soul.
