VADODARA: Insurance companies cannot continue the burden on people who are insured if the hospital appointed Covid has violated the provisions of the contract between the Hospital and Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC).
The Consumer Court in the city on Friday made this observation while not only asked United Insurance Company Ltd to pay all the care bills to residents of Harni-Waravi Ring Road, which was infected with Covid-19, but also directed the Civic body and also directed.
The Ministry of Health of the State Government to ask and act against hospitals that collect more than the closed level of care set by VMC.
Alpa Fadia has approached the Vadodara Regency consumer dispute, after the insurance company did not pay the number of claims of Rs 1.2 lakh for the covid-19 treatment of her husband.
Mayank was received at the hospital designated by Covid Personal in April and has paid more than RS 2.2 lakh for treatment.
The couple has filed a claim to the insurance company to replace the cost of maintenance because it was borne by the Corona Kavach policy.
But they only paid a portion of the bill by insurance companies because they quote VMC notifications.
Notifications have limited the environmental level at Rs 8,500 for a day which will also include pathological costs and drugs.
During the hearing of the case, the couple’s lawyer argued that they were entitled to get a full amount because they had nothing to do with VMC notice.
It is also said that if insurance companies believe that hospitals have collected more, then it must complain to VMC against the hospital.
The consumer forum led by I C Shah enforced an argument and also noted that the insurance company was bound to dea to restore the full amount to the prosecutor in accordance with the insurance contract.
“If in all insurance companies feel that hospitals have collected an exorbitant amount such as the cost of the package set by VMC, the insurance company must begin legal processes that are appropriate for the hospital and must approach the VMC authority,” said the court.
The court directs the insurance company to pay the remaining number to a pair with a 9% interest and compensation of Rs 10,000.
