MySuru: The occupants of the area in the outskirts of Mysuru can be disrupted about their safety after Gangrape a MBA student at Lalithadripura.
Citizens now urge the government to ensure that the areas brought under the jurisdiction of Mysuru City Police Commerce.
Considering the demands of the population, the police have decided to write to the government seeking the expansion of the Jurisdiction of the City of Mysuru Police Commissioner.
City Police Commissioner MySuru Chandragupta confirmed that the proposal recommended the extension of the Communisaria to the newly developed layout has been on the runway for the past five to six years.
“We will write to the government about bringing this layout under the commissioner,” he said.
People have expected the government, who recently brought the layout on the outskirts of the city under new urban local bodies formed by combining Gram Panchayats, to take part in the continuation of the comic jurisdiction, but the latter has not happened.
Chandragupta said that the police would increase supervision and alertness in the suburbs.
“We will ensure maximum security for the people,” he said.
Director General of Karnataka General and Inspector General of Police (DG & IGP) Praveen Sood, meanwhile, held a meeting with a senior police officer at breakfast on Sunday.
He asked City Police personnel and districts to get rid of Mysuru of Crime by launching a new initiative.
The source said that Sood instructed senior police to ensure no complaints from the public about inadequate patrols at night, in addition to directing them to maintain a close watch on the activities of anti-social elements, and the police are more thorough.
“I have provided various tips about increasing the system to Mysuru police,” said Sood Toi.
