Nagpur: Maharashtra Sunil Livestock Minister Kedar on Thursday praised the Supreme Court’s decision to raise the prohibition of the Bullock train race, stating that it would significantly improve the rural economy.
The decision of the APEX court was celebrated by farmers by distributing candy in rural areas in the region.
In the Nagpur district, these races were used to take place in the village of Sawargaon in Narghed Taluka.
They are known as Shankarpat.
The top yesterday was permitted to restart the race, four years after giving the stay, provided that the provisions of the prevention of cruelty on the animal law would be fully obeyed.
“All agricultural communities are estimated by development and celebrate the opportunity.
Over the past four years, this event lives by SC.
The Government of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) followed consistently over the past few years argued this case to restart the race, “said Minister.
Kedar, who held a review of all political parties in this case, said the agriculture was carried out mostly by the tractors and other equipment today, which has reduced the need for bullocks in the fields.
“However, such popular events will encourage farmers to keep male partners with them and the economy will be strengthened.
We will also offer concessions for these events, such as in other states.
People must believe in justice,” he said .
The Ministry of Environment, forest and climate change (Moefcc) has announced regulations under the prevention of cruelty in animal laws, 1960, prohibiting the race in all countries based on cruelty.
