Retired RS 8L Banker Cheats Contractor

Vadodara: A retired bank employee was deceived by a civil contractor who failed to build a former house despite taking more than Rs 8 lakh from him.
In his complaint, Ashwin Brahmbhatt, a new resident of Road, told the police that he decided to build a house in his plot in Sherkhi Village near the city earlier this year and therefore contacted Hitesh Chanpura for new construction work.
Chanpura, accused of conducting some renovation work at the Brahmbhatt house in the city.
After initial negotiations, Brahmbhatt and Chanpura signed an agreement on development in March.
On July 21, Brahmbhatt gave Chanpura in front of Rs 5 Lakh to start work.
A day later, Chanpura asked for more money and Brahmbhatt transferring Rs 3.1 lakh more.
However, construction work never started.
Angered by delay, Brahmbhatt asked Chanpura to return money if he was not interested in doing the job.
Accused, however, it was sought more time, but for the past few months, Brahmbhatt could not contact him because Chanpura’s cellphone was turned off.
Then, the complainant even visited the defendant’s house in the chest, but there he was not found.
Realizing that he had been cheated, Brahmbhatt approached the same police station and based on his complaint, Chanpura was ordered to cheat.
