Gurugram: The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) will immediately start the job for Destilt and strengthen the Sewer Master line along the Golf Road and Prakash Puri Chowk.
According to GMDA officials, sewers along the golf path near Cyber City and that between Prakash Puri Chowk in Sector 3 and Dhanwapur waste treatment plants will be changed.
This project will include desilting from the existing Master Sewer line by connecting and transferring its flow, follow that will be strengthened using pipe technology (CIPP) that healed.
The project is expected to cost GMDA around Rs 23 Crore, and will take nine months for completion after the work begins.
“The gutter line in this area is aged 30 to 40 years.
Silt has settled in several places in the pipe and the top of the pipe has been damaged.
As part of this project, we will conclude these pipes first, after that we will strengthen them using The CIPP method, “said a senior GMDA official.
CIPP, officials said, involving the insertion of the corrosion resistant pipe in the existing pipeline, which protected it from further corrosion and damage.
This process allows authorities to strengthen or repair pipes without spending time and money in shifting or replacing them.
“The use of this method will not only strengthen the gutter line, but it will also improve the life of these pipes with 60 years.
This method involves insertion of layers, so that the diameter for waste flow can be reduced slightly, but overall the flow will increase and become smooth,” The official said.
“We’ve used this method to improve the gutter line along Old Delhi Road.
Some other pipes have also been identified in the city that has become very old, where similar jobs will be made in the near future to strengthen them,” the official added.
GMDA has waved online offers that invite tenders for projects, after which work will be allocated and initiated.
The accountability period of defective cum for work has been set at five years, according to the official.
