Guwahati: The Assam government on Tuesday told the State Assembly that the Indian General Registrar (RGI) had not responded to his letter to share biometric data with Indian unique identification authorities (uidai) so that the aadhaar card could be issued for them.
People whose names have not been included in the last draft national list of residents (NRC).
Biometric details of more than 27 NRC lakh applicants are collected during the claims phase and objection when updating NRC, which has not been told by RGI.
Out of this applicant, the names of 19 lakh are not included in the NRC final draft published on August 31, 2019.
According to the SOP approved by the Supreme Court, their biometric data has been locked since then, died in NRC, which is due can produce their aadhaar card.
Said that this problem would be chased further with RGI and also with the Minister of Panchayat and Rustic Development Ranjeel Kumar Dass said, “Biometric data collected is locked by RGI according to the standard operating procedure to renew NRC.
We are aware that people face problems because their aadhaar cards are not It was produced because of this.
“He added that the state government had written to RGI to share biometric details with Uidai in November.
“Other letters are sent to RGI on the same problem after the current state government is considered a charge in May this year but the answer is still awaited,” he said.
Dass added, “We will write to RGI and MHA once again because we are fully aware that many people face problems because of that.” AIUDF Legislator Aminul Islam has raised this problem in assembly for several hours, indicating that many people lose benefits under the government scheme because they do not have aadhaar cards that are required to be associated with their bank accounts to utilize the benefits.
