Prasagraj: With a new variant of Covid-19 add a challenging task for Magh Mela authorities on the edge of Ganga, the police authority has decided to establish 13 police stations and 36 police posts for strict supervision and implementation of Covid-19 protocols.
SP (traffic), Arun Kumar Dixit, has been appointed by the Nodal Officer for Mela Magh throughout the month, which is scheduled to start from January 14, 2022, and led to March 1, 2022.
Dixit told toi that there would be strict implementation.

The Mela Police Team will be assigned to constant supervision and Covid norms, including keeping social and wearing a mask that will be strictly followed.
He, however, said a total of 13 police stations and 36 police posts will be arranged for supervision, crowd and traffic management and complicated security measures.
The police claimed SP is currently working on the crowd and traffic management plan for worshipers and pilgrims who come from distant areas during the religious exhibition throughout the month.
Plans have also been engrave to maintain social distance in Ghats and camps.
As part of the plan, additional forces and NGO volunteers, civil and other defense will be deployed in static locations, including Sangam Noze, Kali Sadak, Parade, and Jhunsi.
“After the Mela police were allocated to establish a police station and the posts, we would prepare police stations in static points such as Parade, Kotwali, Mahavir Ji, Akshayvat, Sangam, Police Jal, Khak Chowk, Jhunsi, Kalpuvwasi and Prayignal,” said Nodal Officer , adding, “Thirty-six police posts will also set up on Mela campus.” There are plans to make special arrangements for solid dense bags to maintain social distance.
With a population density of more than three people per square meter, the Noze Sangam region is always considered the most interesting and popular points for worshipers and pilgrims, until Mega’s religious events last year.
In addition, Mela police also compiled security sector security plans to maintain the Covid-19 protocol and additional cellular pickets will be placed at a static point.
It is estimated that the task of around 3,000 police will be deployed in and around Magh Mela Campus.
The police force will increase on the main baths.
Unlike previous years, social and cultural organizations would not be allowed to establish a kiosk and pandal or camp at Magh Mela campus.
There will be no event Katha-Vachak (Storestellers) too.
Stress is also placed to maintain security at Ghats and for the number of sufficient police officers, PAC (flood division), and swimmers will be deployed.
Barricading the inner water will also be done at all Ghats and there will be adequate Ghat forces so that social distance between worshipers can be maintained.
