Ranchi: Ranchi’s first dedicated vegetable market in Nagababa Khatal, which is intended to accommodate the nearest street vendor according to the survey conducted in 2016, has a total of 144 applications approved by Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC).
A total of 688 applications were submitted to RMC.
Talking to TOI, Assistant Commissioner of Jyoti Kumar Singh said RMC had approved 144 applications of fruit and vegetable vegetables as determined.
He said, “A total of 688 applications have come to us.
But the applicants are mixed which means that we want the application of people who like fruits and vegetables.
Also, instead of Nagababa Khatal locality, applicants come from all over the city.
After sorting , we have chosen 144 actual applications are people who sell fruits and vegetables in the area.
nine of them are fruit sellers while the rest are vegetable sellers.
They are people who actually choose fruits and vegetables in Nagababa Khatal during the 2016 survey.
“The Civic body comes with a special vegetable market where more than 300 sellers, operating from the opposite road with Raj Bhavan, can move Kishoreganj in Ratu Road will eventually open to ensure a smooth traffic flow.
Singh said, “Actually we expect more applications.
Not all vendors have applied for shops.”
