Patna: Unknown robbers suspected of escaping with a safe containing gold and silver ornaments worth more than Rs 8 lakh from a jewelry store in Manoharpur Kachhuara under the Gopalpur police station in the Patna district at the end of Friday night.
They hit a shop in the middle of the night, when all the other businesses in the area were closed.
According to sources, robbers opened the shutter and entered the jewelry store using cutters.
The incident was found when the police patrol vehicle passed near the store and watched the shutter was removed.
The police called the shopkeeper, Pramod Kumar, and told him about the incident.
Abhishek Ranjan, Sho of Gopalpur Police Station, told TI on Saturday that the safe was recovered from the nearest field, but all jewelry was lost.
“The robbers use cutters to open safes and escape with jewelry.

Sho added, “The store is not equipped with a closed circuit television camera.
