Swiss Great Roger Federer said he did not face setbacks and recovered well after his latest knee surgery.
Federer, who withdrew from the US Open, said in August he would miss for months because he needed more knee operations to continue playing.
The 40-year-old had two procedures in 2020 which resulted in more than a year of rehabilitation before returning to action in March.
He last played at Wimbledon in July, where he suffered a quarter-final exit, which ended his dream of the ninth title that aroused a record at the All England Club.
“I feel really fine …
everything isn’t like what I hope, but I recover well and rehabilitation will be very good,” Federer told Eurosport.
“I have no setback.
I feel strong and excited about what will happen.
I hope I can go back to the tennis court as soon as possible, but I have to be patient.” This is slow period now.
And I have to take step by step.
And so far it’s so good.
I am very happy.
“Federer, who shared a 20-grand slam title of the Grand Slam title with Rafa Nadal and Novak Djokovic, believed that winning the grand slam calendar is still possible for a male player after Djokovic approached achievements, only to miss the open US finals maybe it would happen again,” said Federer.
“We saw it with Novak, me and Rafa that we came very close.” But I think you need a little luck.
You need perseverance, strength …
That’s why I think it will be difficult.
But it’s possible.
