Royal Enfield to Closed Production plants for 3 times

CHENNAI: Eicher Motors Ltd-owned Royal Enfield will close its own three south Indian production plants for 3 days to guarantee safety amid increasing Covid-19 instances, based on an inner notice found by Reuters and just two resources.

Royal Enfield – a renowned brand in India, the world’s largest motorcycle market, will close its three production plants from May 27 to May 29, the inner note to employees stated.

“We shall resume performance in Monday, 31st May,” the inner note to employees conducted by Royal Enfield Chief Operating Officer B Govindarajan stated.

“The aforementioned times shall be paid after according to marketplace requirements,” Govindarajan stated in the notice.

Royal Enfield didn’t immediately respond to a request seeking comment.

All three plants are situated at and around Chennai in southern Tamil Nadu state, frequently called India’s Detroit.
The automaker had shut its crops for 3 days earlier this month from May 13 to May 15.

Tamil Nadu is among those worst-hit countries with over 30,000 cases per day each week.
The nation, an automobile hub called India’s Detroit, has enforced a lockdown but has enabled several factories, for example automobile plants, to keep on operating.
