RPID RT-PCR Test: Drastic Increase in + Ve Case in Mia

Mangaluru: The number of positive cases detected through rapid RPT-PCR testing at Mangaluru International Airport (MIA), almost doubled in the last 45 days.
The Ministry of Health has noticed the number of positive cases in MIA increasing after December.
Towards the end of November, from 30,344 passengers were tested, 48 of them turned out to be positive.
Data was available on January 10, revealed that 149 passengers tested positively from 44,013 passengers.
Everyone who tested positively during the fast RT-PCR test, brought the negative Covid RT-PCR certificate, carried out 48 hours before they could take a flight.

Ashok H, District Nodal Officer, told TOI that the number of those tested positively, between leaflets to the UAE, had increased in December, with the emergence of the third wave of pandemic.

RT-PCR testing facilities that were fast in Mia began on August 18.
According to available data, of 149 cases, more than half of the cases came from Dakshina Kannada (72 cases), followed by Uttara Kannada (26), Kasaragod (24)), Udupi (22), one case of Hassan, and two cases each -Masing from Palackad in Kerala and Kodagu.

Ashok said that 22 people had arrived at Mangalaru through the port.
No one among those who have been tested positively so far, he said.
