Thiruvananthapuram: Russian residents in the city and other parts of the district are expected to vote for the election of the deputy to the Duma of the Federal Assembly state on Sunday.
Field voting points are being held at the Honorary Consulate of the Russian Federation on Sunday.
The consulate will oversee the voting under the direction of the Honorary Consul Ratheesh C Nair, Consul Sergei Lagutin from the Russian Consulate in Chennai, Deputy consul Alexei Tarasov and Kavitha Nair, Assistant Director of Russian House in Trivandrum.
About 25 Russian citizens from the area as far as Varkala is expected to give their voices.
“Actually this year, because of Covid’s pandemic, parliamentary elections in Russia were detained in three phases between 17 and 19 September.
During the last election, around 50 people gave their voices here.
Because many pandemics returned to Russia so we expect only about 25 people This time, “said Ratheesh C Nair.
“We have told the Kerala Government protocol department and district collectors and police commissioners.
All activities will be held under a tight Covid protocol.
After we finished collecting the sound, the ballot will be sent to Moscow after September 19,” he said.
On Saturday, a polling station specifically founded by the Russian Consulate in Chennai at the Koodankulam nuclear power plant for scientists and researchers there.
This election marks the third time when Russia can choose in the consulate in Trivandrum after consecutive elections in 2012 and 2016.
