Miami: Far from the ground, Sam’s storm rose into the Category 4 storm in the Atlantic Ocean on Saturday.
There is no coastal watch or warning that applies to Sam, which is around 990 miles (1,595 kilometers) southeast of the North LeeWard Islands in the Caribbean Sea on Saturday night.
It moves west-northwest at 8 mph (13 kph).
The US National Storm Center in Miami said Sam had a maximum sustainable wind of 145 mph (230 kph).
The wordecraft words say Sam can get a stronger Sunday morning with a 150 mph (240 kpj) wind.
Swelling from the storm can cause a dangerous rip condition off the coast of small antilles early next week, officials said.
Meanwhile Teresa, who has become a subtropical storm, faded onto last Saturday, about 150 miles (240 kilometers) in North Bermuda.
