Mumbai: India’s income service officer Sameer Wankhede, whose term of office as director of Zonal NCB was marked by controversy, was sent home to his parent organization – the Tax Center Council was indirect – on Monday.
Wankhede held a representative to NCB since September 2020.
He was previously posted with the Directorate of Income Intelligence (DRI).
In order, Wankhede has been asked to report to the headquarters of Delhi.
He was loaned from DRI to NCB.
He was then shown as posted with a risk management division, also controlled by the Director General of Dri.
As NCB Zonal Director NCB, Wankhede was involved in actions against drug syndicates which allegedly involved Bollywood celebrities after Sushant’s actor Singh Rajput because of suicide.
In October last year, a team led by Wankhede allegedly recovered drugs during a cruise ship attack from the coast of Mumbai and implanted actor Shah Rukh Khan, another.
