Nagpur: “Why do we always have to protest and become criminals to save green cover” – say a green cross soldier who is happy with the announcement of the Union Minister Nitin Gadkari but is awaiting official confirmation to be submitted in court or through the National Highway Authority (NHAI) regarding the call Inter-Capital Station Project in Ajni.
A day back, Gadkari while interacting with Toi said that this project was dropped as “citizens did not want it.” The minister also informed that the contractor had canceled the project and sent a letter of cessation to NHAI because of being legally tangled.
Environmental lovers and conscious citizens, who have been fighting with battles are almost two years to save around 40,000 old trees in the Ajni, happy with the news but want to see sustainable development occurs without the need to protest.
Wanting this development “in writing”, environmental lovers say that they never opposed the IMS project but the large-scale destruction caused green cover, which was one of the few green bags left in the city.
“We, as part of people who care about the environment and sensitive to others too, gladly take the spread.
If we oppose developments, why do we submit a detailed plan on alternative sites for this project?” Anasuya Kale Chhabrani Environment.
Stating that the alternative site plan for the IMS project has been submitted at Nagpur Bombay High Court, Architectural Conservation of Sandeep Pathe, “After deep research, we found that the ideal site for this project was Khapri which would ensure minimum damage for green cover.
We are not some lovers The Pseudo environment that oppose development but concerns citizens who want sustainable growth.
“Save the Ajni campaign never opposes IMS – said Green Activist Kunal Mourya.
“Anyone who says we are anti-developments is one of the wrong people.
Since the first day, our only request is not falling trees because the loss cannot be repaired,” he added.
Because the problem of tree feelings in ajni is sub-yudice, green is now awaiting a written submission by NHAI in court.
“It is not only about cutting down trees but the destruction of developing biodiversity habitat, inheritance and city identity.
If the IMS project is called, it will be the beginning of a green victory.
What we need now is a change in the mindset of policy makers towards sustainable development , they said.
