SC rejects Padmanabhaswamy Temple Trust Plea seeking liberation from the audit

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to entertain the application submitted by Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple Trust, created by the Royal family Travancore, who sought release from a 25-year-old audit, which was ordered by the highest court last year.
The bench is headed by u.u justice.
Lalit said that special audits were intended not limited to the temple, but also included trust.
The bench said the audit must be resolved preferably in 3 months.
On September 17, the Administrative Committee of the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Kerala had told the Supreme Court that the temple faced financial difficulties – costs were not fulfilled, because the offerings were not enough.
Advocate Senior R.
Basant, who represents the committee, has submitted that all temples in Kerala are closed and quoted financial difficulties, said RS 1.25 Crore is a monthly fee, but the temple almost did not get Rs 60-70 lakh.
He added that there was trust, which was formed according to the upper court order and had to contribute to the temple and seek a trust audit.
Senior Advocate Arvind Flat, which represents trust, proposes that it is public belief, which is made by the royal family and has no role in the administration, also does not exist in the petition, the opposite is only mentioned by Amicus Curiae in this case.
He then argues that trust is formed only to oversee the puzzards and ritual temples involving the family.
“It became a picture just before the Supreme Court after Amicus Curiae demanded that trust accounts must also be audited,” said flat, adding it should not be audited because it was separated from the temple.
