ThiruvananThapuram: Parents and teachers from Nemom Up School recently gathered to create medicinal plants in school fields by collecting plants with the value of drugs from their environment.
The project is being carried out under the leadership of the Pallichal Ayush Ayurveda Primary Health Center as part of a carbon neutral project.
This park combines plants such as Vishnukranthi (Evolvulus Alsinoides), Karuka (Scutch Grass), Muyal Cheviyan (Emilia Sonchifolia) and many more traditional varieties contributed to parents, teachers and pallichal ayush ayurveda puskesmas.
The total number of 50 mills is planted with a signboard to facilitate identification.
School authorities have also decided to provide a biodiversity list to all students to document plants.
This is a 100-page book, which will have three pages dedicated to each factory.
Students can describe plants according to their imagination.
It can be in the form of a conversation, a story, image, or the description itself.
Students can also include other medicinal plants from their environment.
Authorities believe that when students have to collect leaves and stick them in the book; They will learn the basic details of the plants, their appearance, features and use.
“This project aims to provide basic knowledge to students about traditional medicinal plants in Kerala at a very young age itself.
We try to add more plants to the park.
Even though we see a lot of medicinal plants around us, we are not aware of their usefulness.
So, It is important for children to identify the plant.
Students and teachers will have an interactive session to share ideas and opinions about the biodiversity register, “said Mansoor, Principal Nemom Up School.
