Chatra: A 50-year-old journalist was destroyed to death by Hywa which was coal-filled near the Government Girl Middle School at Simaria Chowk at the National Highway-100 when he would go home on a motorcycle on Thursday night.
Local residents rushed to the nearest hospital but were declared dead.
The deceased was identified as Shashi Bhushan Singh, who was a resident of Tikulia Village in this Regency.
He works with an Hindi every day.
His death triggered protest by local journalists, who were accompanied by politicians and several locals, blocking Simaria Chowk on Friday morning with Singh’s body and demanded work for his family and free education for his children.
The blockade paralyzes the movement of vehicles and coal transportation which is jammed from various Central Coal projects Limited (CCL).
Local residents claim that the symaram roads are dangerous since the heavy vehicle that coal-loaded through the area -divisional police Ashok Priyadarshi reaches the place, talks with agitators and convinced them to lift the blockade.
Even Simaria Mla Kishun Kumar watersheds reached Simaria Chowk and met with agitators.
He even spoke with CCL management and asked him to provide work and compensation to Singh’s dependents.
Meanwhile, Chatra MP Sunil Singh, Minister of Labor and Chatra Mla Satyanand Bhokta and Das spoke to Singh family members and convinced them to all kinds of assistance.
