Athens: Greek authority said the search and rescue operation went on from the coast of South Island Crete for some believers lost during the day after the boat brought dozens of migrants to sink into strong winds.
Greek coast guards said three ships were involved Friday in the search and rescue operation of Southeast Crete.
As many as 37 people were saved on Thursday night, including one child and one woman, with several drawn from the sea and the other of the sinking sailboat, said the coast guard.
According to the victim, there are a total of around 45 people on board.
The passenger nationality, the original departure point and the purpose intended is not clear.
Greece is one of the preferred smuggling routes to the European Union for people running away from conflict and poverty in the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
The great majority seeks to cross to the Greek islands of the nearest Turkish beach in inflatable Dinghies, but sometimes some efforts cross a larger boat, sometimes leave the North African coast and hope to cut Greece at all and go to Italy.
