Thiruvananthapuram: Former Chief Secretary and Author C P Nair, 81, died on Friday.
Nair is a member of the Administrative Reform Commission until his death.
He led the committee to rewrite Kerala’s half-century education law and regulations.
He served as Commissioner Travancore Council Devaswom.
Nair is the son of a well-known script author and a short story writer N P Chellappan Nair.
Belongs to 1962 civil service batch, he holds the position of home secretary and labor secretary in the state government.
During the Minister of Karunakan between 1982 and 1987, Nair functions as the main secretary of CM.
He retired from the service in 1998.
He served as a lecturer at St Thomas College, Kozhancherry, Government Brennen College, Thalassery, and Government Arts College, Thiruvananthapuram.
A award-winning writer and columnist, Nair wrote several books including “Thakil”, “Uganda Malayalam”, “Lankayil Ora Maruthi”, etc.
The work of “Irukalimoottakal” has won the Kerala Sahitya Academy award.
He survived the wife of Saraswathy and two children.
The funeral is expected to take place on Saturday.
