Secunderabad: Good news to the residents of Secunderabad Cantonment.
Chief of Minister K Chandraskhara Rao has agreed to extend the 20-KL free water supply scheme in the Pantonment Secunderabad too.
A similar free water scheme has been applied in larger Hyderabad, for the past year.
On Friday night, Secunderabad Cantonment Trs MLA, G Kaanna met CM K Chandrasekhar Rao in Pragathi Bhavan, and urged to extend the free water supply scheme of 20 kilo liters (KL).
CM then asked the Secretary of Telangana Chief Somesh Kumar to take all the steps and efforts needed to implement a free water scheme, as early as possible, Secunderabad Cantonment Mla Gavis told TII.
Immediately after the CM announcement, the Trs Party cadres at the MLA camp office damaged crackers.
With the KCR announcement, nearly 20,000 consumers at the Secunderabad Cantonment will benefit.
According to the scheme, consumers do not need to pay water bills up to 20 KL.
SCB that generates Rs 1.10 crore income through water bills, will now lose.
HMWS & SB supplies a total of 60 lakh gallons of water per day (LGPD) to the Secunderabad Cantonment under the ‘bulk’ and SCB categories in turn supplying drinking water through their distribution network to occupants of the company.
