Vadodara: Kairavi Gandhi, an environmental design school and architecture (SEDA) Navrachana University-based University, has been nominated for the Charles Correa Gold Medal Award for the Best Bachelor’s Thesis in the country for social housing.
His thesis has been nominated among the top six in this country.
The prestigious national award was established to commemorate the deceased Charles Correa, one of the country’s leading architects.
Students who know new ways to solve social problems through their design thesis respected by the foundation.
Competition for nominations and awards is very intense as 40 of the best state universities, almost 500, Vie for this award.
Kairavi’s thesis discussed the concern of a mixture of social and cohesion through its housing projects.
Guided by Seda Dean Professor Pratyush Shankar, Kairavi designed a housing project where the social and economic mixed communities could live together.
The jury consists of several of the world’s top architects.
It was chaired by the architect of Dennis Pieprz from Boston USA with Gurjit Singh Matharoo, Bijoy Ramchandran, Shimul Javeri Kadri and Nedine Gertts became another member.
