Letter: The alleged murder of relatives of the Minister of Home Affairs Harsh Sanghvi has sent a shock wave across the city and diamond business community on Sunday.
The deceased, a 63-year-old senior citizen was punched by his neighbor on a small step in his residential apartment in the Rander area.
Police, meanwhile, have held up the allegations after registering a violation of murders and also started an investigation.
According to police, Mahesh Sanghvi lives in Ratan Park’s apartment in his area and a diamond businessman.
On Saturday around 4pm, the deceased had left shopping with his daughter and returned late at night.
To reach his ninth residence, the Sanghvi took the elevator with his daughter.
When the elevator reaches the fourth floor, the pair enters the elevator and insists on taking the elevator first.
Bonny Mehta, 24, and his wife said that they were late and wanted to fall first.
However, Sanghvi tells him that when they carry a shopping bag, they need to go up first.
It starts a fight where Mehta punches an elderly man on the nose that causes heavy loss of blood.
The family rushed Sanghvi to the hospital where he died during treatment on Sunday morning.
“After the police were told about the incident, the staff of the Rander police station went to the hospital and the police registered a violation of the murder (IPC 302) against Mehta and detained him to continue,” said an officer from the Rander Police Station to Ti.
