BELOGIVAVI: Six Families and a neighbor died when the house wall collapsed due to heavy rain in Badala Ankalgi Village from Basilvan Bagewadi Taluk on Wednesday.
Police said three children were killed.
Beleagavi City and the surrounding area have received unusual heavy rain for October.
Deputy Commissioner MG Hirematrath said the wall was weak and could not bear the heavy burden of rain.
The victims were near the falling wall and buried alive.
CM Basilvaraj Bommai spoke with the deputy coufactoner to take a stock of the situation.
The government has announced compensation of RS 5 Lakh to the next dead person relatives.
