Muzaffarnagar: The court here examines the person in charge of Helpline parenting children on Tuesday in connection with the case of sexual abuse of four children in this district.
In July last year, a Helpline team for childcare and police had saved 10 children from Tripura, Mizoram and Assam from the ashram in Shukartal here.
A medical examination has confirmed that four children, between seven and 10 years, were sexually attacked.
Incharge from Helpline, Poonam Sharma, was examined by the protection of children from the Sexual Court (Pocso) here on Tuesday.
Special Judge (Act Pocso) Sanjeev Kumar Tiwari delayed hearing in this case until October 12.
The owner of Ashram, Swami Bhakti Bhushan Govind Maharaj and his students Krishan Mohan Das was also present in court.
The police have registered a case under the Indian Criminal Code 323 (voluntary causing injury), 377 (unnatural violations), 504 (intentional insults with the intention to provoke peace violations) and section 5/6 of Pocso Act.
The owner of the ashram and his students were then arrested.
