Rajkot: A 35-year-old farmer who lives in Halvad was killed and his wife and son were attacked by his brothers on Tuesday night after a water dispute for irrigation.
The police said that Mukesh Sarla’s victim was resting at home when his brother Ragha and Munna’s younger brother attacked him with a knife and sickle.
Before the attack, Mukesh and Ragha had verbal altercation over water from Borewell on their farm.
Three brothers have five BIGHA land each who was originally one package of 15 BIGHA land belonging to their ancestors.
However, because there is only one Borewell between them, they often fight to draw water for irrigation from it.
On Tuesday night, Mukesh and Ragha compete for this problem.
Ragha drawing water and mukesh also want to use water at the same time.
After the heated argument, Mukesh returned home when he was attacked.
His wife Daxa told the police that when the two defendants stabbed her husband, he and his 12-year-old son Hasmukh intervened but they were also attacked.
After the two defendants fled, their couple and son were taken to the hospital in Halvad where Mukesh was declared dead before entering.
Daxa and Hasmukh were referred to Surendranagar because of their injury severe.
“The woman and her son recovered in Surendranagar.
Meanwhile, we have registered a violation of murder, trying to kill and attack the two accused,” said Inspector P a Detivadiya.
