Chennai: ‘Thamizh Thai Vazthe’ has become an integral part of government events held in the state for five decades now.
Now, the state government has circulated internal notice, which says that the song must be sung by a trained singer and is not played using a gadget.
The Secretary of the Development Department of Tamil Mahesan Kasirajan has issued a notice that said the song written by Mamonmaniam Bachelor Sundaram Pillai must be sung in all government programs to mark the start.
The government makes it mandatory to be sung by a trained singer.
“We want the song ‘Thamizh Thai Vazthu’ sung.
This will live with dedicated people singing a song of prayer instead of using a device recorded to play it,” Kasirajan said.
The notification stated that for further program organizers must involve a trained singer to sing the Tamil prayer song and the national anthem at the beginning and at the end of the program.
The order noted that ‘Thamizh Thai Vaazhthu’ and the national anthem was being played on the device.
Therefore, the people who attended the program did not sing songs or songs.
“Without patriotism and love for language, they just stand up.
Therefore the goal of playing a song of prayer and the national anthem was defeated,” the officer said.
Department notifications will be circulated to all departments through the public department to ensure that everyone follows him.
An official, citing the government’s order in 1970, said clearly stated that Tamil prayer songs must be sung at the start of all government programs, including those in educational institutions and organized by local bodies.
Practice gradually stops when the committee starts using tape recorders and other devices to play songs.
“It becomes mechanical than the person who sings it with full involvement and dedication, without knowing the importance,” the official said, looking for anonymity.
