Chandigarh: The day after Deputy Deputy Punjab Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa summoned Lynching Lakhbir Singh in Singhu limiting the possibility of conspiracy to defamate farmers’ agitation, the state government on Wednesday formed a special investigation team of three members (sitting) to investigate into brutal murder.
The government has acted on a complaint submitted by the sister who died, who alleged that his brother was blocked by some unknown people and was taken to the Singhu border where he was killed by several people Nihang Sikh on October 15 with allegations of blasphemy.
In accordance with the order issued by the Director General of Police (DGP) Preeta Iqbal Singh Sahota, sitting under the Chairperson of Varinder Kumar, ADGP-Cum-Director, Bureau of Investigation, consisting of Inderbir Singh, Gali Ferozepur, and Harvinder Singh, SSP Tarn Taran.
Varinder Kumar has been allowed to moony other police officers posted in the state for inquiry according to requirements.
He has also been given the freedom to get support and help wings / other Punjab police units.
Lynching’s incident began a political storm after photographs of one of the leaders of Nihang along with the Union Minister for Agriculture NS Tomar appeared.
Randhawa, who also heads the department of the house, has promised total justice stating that the government will reach the bottom of the case and identify and expose who the conspirator behind the incident.
While referring to the photos, Randhawa on Tuesday, said: “This has caused doubts and sincere suspicions between the minds of people who need to be cleaned and the Punjab government will do everything to reach conspiracy roots and expose and punish the perpetrators.”
