Nagpur: The gang of thieves allegedly entered the store and stole several expensive smartphones, power banks and other electronic gadgets worth more than Rs 26 Lakh in the Dharampeth Nagpur area, police said on Thursday.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, they said.
Following the theft, Ambazari police station personnel tried to find CCTV recordings from the area and identified the defendant.
The security guards installed on assignments in stores that sell Oneplus smartphones and adjacent stores have been gone since last week, said an official.

“The police have begun registering the identity number of the International Cellular Equipment (IMEI) printed in the empty box of stolen handsets to track thieves if they use cellphone vent or sell them to several others,” the official said.

Senior Inspector Bagul said that a separate team had been formed and sent to a different place to trace the defendant.
