Coimbatore: A harassment, who took a 10-sovereign gold chain from a woman in Chanan Ma Nagar, was arrested by red and handed over to the police on Friday night.
The person arrested was identified as S Surya, 25, from Jalan Mariamam Temple in Pealamedu, a construction worker.
M Chithirai Selvi, 43, from VenkataChallapathy Nagar near Chanan Maa Nagar, driving a two-wheeled vehicle, when Surya, on a motorcycle, followed him and seized his 10-sovereign gold chain.
But his bicycle slipped and he fell on the road.
The person who passed him with a red hand and handed it to PoliceSurya Peellamedu booked based on Section 392 (robbery) from the Indian criminal code and was submitted in the prison of Gobichettilayam.
“He is a drunkard.
We have taken his motorcycle,” said a police officer.
