Sparks Fly After the Neutral Pronoun ‘IEL’ included in the French dictionary

Written by news2in

Paris: This is a neutral replace that proves anything other than: non-binary replacement that is added to the honorable French dictionary has ignited fierce linguistic quarrels.
Le Petit Robert introduced the word “IEL” – merge “il” (he) and “Elle” (he) – to the online edition last month.
On Wednesday, education minister Jean-Michel Blanquer tweeted to say that “inclusive writing is not the future of French” and warns that school children should not use “IEL” despite the inclusion at Le Robert, seen as a linguistic authority in France since 1967.
The party’s ruling party Francois Jolivet said the nonbinary pronoun was a sign that was worried that France embraced the ideology of the “wake” of the US.
Director General Le Robert Edition, Charles Bimbenet, in the defense of the dictionary said it only dismissed the meaning of the Word because it grew in the national currency.
That step, however, was welcomed by non-binary France.
