Stakeholders anxious about the close of six months shiradi ghat rd

Mangaluru: Stakeholders, including the Association of Truck Owners and Chamber of Commerce and Industrial Kanca, have expressed concern over the complete closure of Jalan Shiradi Ghat for improvement.
Dakshina Kannada Districs Truck Owner of President Sunil D’Souza said that there had been reports about Shiradi Ghat Road closed for six months, for improving works.

“We urge the authorities to apply the work model, and allow one-way movement of vehicles.
The only choice is to travel through Uttara Kannada and Hubballi, which means traveling with an additional 200km to reach Bengaluru,” he said.
In a letter to Deputy Commissioner K V Rajendra, KCCI said the closure of this route that connects the coast will cause great discomfort for citizens and inhibit trade, trade and industrial activities in the region.

Deputy Commissioner K V Rajendra said that fear that Jalan Shiradi Ghat could be closed, but there was no decision taken so far by administration.
“We have to see and verify the report submitted by NHAI about this problem, and then receive the phone,” he said.
