Bengaluru: Even when students protested their right to attend classes wearing headscarves, the state government on Friday explained that the existing uniform rules must continue in all educational institutions until the High Court gave its verdict.
CM BASAVARAJ BOMMAI and Minister of Education Pratama and Medium BV Nagesh held a meeting with the Advocate General on Friday to discuss the State Station to be presented before HC who had been told about this problem.
“The problem has been before the High Court and the government is waiting for the last decision.
Until that time all schools and colleges must follow each uniform code which is prescribed by their school development and monitoring committee,” said Nagesh.
He said all educational institutions have been given the freedom to have their own uniform code under the laws of Karnataka.
The only condition is a uniform code must be announced well before the start of the academic year and should not be changed for five years.
In the Biasaavi, a group of students from the Government of PU College in the city of Ramadurga came to class with Saffron Shawlson on Friday, PU College in Byndoor, Udupi District, girls who were banned from wearing a hijab entering the campus.
This is the 5th college in the district – three in Kundapur, one in Udupi and one in Byndoor – to watch a hijab row.
Expressing his sadness over controversy, Nagesh said the uniform code was implemented in good faith with the intention to maintain harmony and brotherhood among students.
“In this college (in the Udupi district), students clearly received information about uniform code in writing.
The students also agreed.
They obeyed until mid-January.
I did not know who incited him, and suddenly they began to protest them..
I begged them to protest them and attend classes, “he said.
Nagesh said Kerala and the Bombay High Court had argued that no students could wear headscarves to school.
Opposition leader Siddaramaiiah said the decision of a college in Kundapur for the bar students dressed in hijab entering the campus was a violation of individual fundamental rights.
“Wearing a hijab is an old tradition.
What problems cause others? In addition, the government has not emphasized that uniform rules must be implemented at the Public Works level.
The entire controversy is part of a conspiracy for Muslim women,” he said.
Reacting to Siddaramaiiah, Nagesh said circular with uniform code was issued for all schools and colleges during the previous cm government.
“Such is a fact, the holder is on the border issue about the bank’s political elections,” he said.
Energy Minister Sunil Kumar said, “We will not allow the udupi district to become another Taliban.
Students must follow the rules regardless of their religious beliefs,” he said.
