Athens: a strong earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 has hit the South Greek Island of Crete, raving residents.
There is no direct information about damage or injury.
The Athens Geodinamic Institute said the earthquake hit 9:17 a.m.
Local time (0617 GMT), with an episore of 246 kilometers (153 miles) southeast of the capital of Greece, Athens.
The European-Mediterranean Seismology Center and US Geological Survey provide early Magnitudo 6.0, with the center of the seven kilometers (4 miles) northern village thrapsano.
It is common for different seismological institutes to provide various magnituds to earthquakes during early hours and days after an event.
