Mangaluru: Even when the hijab controversy has caused the closure of educational institutions, video clips from several Muslim students offering Namaz in the classroom in the government elementary school in Ankathadka in Kadaba Taluk, about 50 km from here, has become a viral on social media.
Students studying in class V and VII have offered Namaz in the class in February 4.
The incident was revealed when the video clip became viral, and the locals opposed it.
Immediately after information was received, officials from the Ministry of Education visited school on Friday.
According to sources, the incident offered Namaz has not yet reached the teacher’s notification on Friday last week.
Immediately after knowing the incident, the teacher directed students not to be involved in religious activities in the classroom.
Facts, parents of some children have requested permission from school, to allow students to visit the mosque on Friday.
However, there is no permission given to offer Namaz in the school.
