Vadodara: A 17-year-old boy committed suicide by jumping from the high-rise Gotri area on Wednesday night.
Mayur Shirshad, a University M Engineering student, jumped from the fifth floor of Shivalay Heights in about 7 nights, police said, added that he suffered severe injuries and died in place.
“Mayor went to the apartment to meet his friend.
But instead of visiting his flat, the deceased jumped from the building,” said V R Vaniya, Police Inspector Gotri.
When asked the reason behind suicide, Vaniya said, “We asked friends and parents but they did not know why he ended his life.
The police said that mechanical engineering students had good academic records.
He was on social media until 6pm On Wednesday after that he took extreme steps.
The deceased did not leave a suicide note.
