Students learn, connect when they play at this government school

Written by news2in

Rajkot: In a government school in Liliya Village from Amreli, school children literally races.
Even though it’s on board! If the dice they throw shows the sign besides, they move forward in the race.
A reduction in dice means stepping back moves.
The idea is not only to make pluses and minuses from ‘ordinary math’ easier for them to learn when they play.
But also to encourage them to be socially connected while they live far from the mobile screen.
As the school has been reopened after a long two-year Covid-19 induced hiatus, a teacher at the Liliya government school has developed a unique board and card game to help children relate to their peers.
The game developed by Prakash Solanki teaches mathematics students while explaining them some social issues.
Solanki first developed a game like last year which got chosen in the national toy fair.
“There is one game where children throw dice.
He moves up on a virtual vehicle on the board according to the amount displayed in the dice.
On the virtual route, the police will ask him to produce a license.
If the player does not have a license, he must move down on the board until the RTO office.
This game explains to them that the license is mandatory to drive a vehicle, “explained Soarki.
School teachers have made more games such as mathematics and science to involve students as schools trying to return to normal.
“Most students find math and science boring.
But through this game, they found this very interesting lesson, “said Solanki, adding that playing games also helped children with a de-addictive cellphone.
The idea is also to help children understand not just mugging to score in their exams.
“At present, children only memorize lessons for their exams.
But it only makes them marks.
If they start enjoying what they learn, they will not forget what they learn, “he said.
