Nagpur: A 19-year-old girl from Madhya Pradesh, who suffered from a rare disease known as ‘Hirchsprung’s disease’, was given complete assistance by conducting a new procedure – per MYOtomy of Rektal Endoscopy (Prem) – at Midas Hospital recently.
Gastroenterologist Dr.
Saurabh Mukewar and his team conducted this operation.
With this, Midas only became the third center in the world to carry out this procedure for the treatment of this condition, claimed by a doctor.
“This girl has severe constipation since she was born.
He will have one intestinal movement per week.
He tried various drugs for constipation but did not relieve it.
He was diagnosed with ‘Hirschsprung’ disease after undergoing an evaluation in Midas,” said Dr.
Mukewar.
Hirschsprung’s disease is a rare condition that is usually presented in childhood with severe constipation.
There is a loss of nerve supply to the lower part of the intestine.
This results in muscle inability to relax and, therefore, feces cannot pass this segment which results in blockage of benches in the intestine.
Usually, this disease management requires operation in one or two settings.
“Prem is a fewer new endoscopic procedures, not afraid and not painful.
This was originally done and explained by Dr.
Amol Bapaye in Pune,” said Dr.
Mukewar.
Prem involves making tunnels on large intestinal walls with flexible endoscope and cutting down the affected muscles.
After this, feces can easily pass the affected segments and patients are released from constipation.
“In this patient, 25cm from the muscle affected at the bottom of the large intestine (large intestine) must be sliced, which is the longest reported to date in the world,” said Dr.
Mukewar.
Patients are fine now.
He has one intestinal movement per day and there are no complications considered in his follow-up.
In general, Hirschsprung’s disease was diagnosed in pediatric patients alone.
This case rarely happened again because the girl suffered for 19 years without a diagnosis.
According to the doctor, there may be patients like that in the countryside of Central India.
Disease disease that is rare is a rare condition that affects the large intestine and causes problems with feces that through their conditions presented at birth as a result of nerve cells that are lost in the muscles of the intestinal surgery today are the current standard treatment but the cause of morbidity Endoscopic Myotomy Per Anal (Prem) is the third outer space endoscope technique which is currently available at only 3 centers in the early world which was originally done and explained by gastroenterology & endoscope Dr.
