BANGKOK: Myanmar leader who was overthrown with Aung San Suu Kyi this month will bear the testimony of the courtroom for the first time in one of several cases of him since the military took power in February, his lawyer said on Tuesday.
He and two co-defendants were charged with obstacles to testify in their own defense but would not call another witness, said lawyer Khin Maung Zaw.
Suu Kyi’s testimony is scheduled to start October 26.
Prosecution has finished presenting witnesses in this case heard in a special court in the Naypyitaw capital.
Supporting Suu Kyi and Independent Analyst said the allegations against him were made and efforts to discredit them and legitimize the confiscation of military power.
Suu Kyi was tried by the same court on two charges of limiting Pandemi Covid-19 during the 2020 election campaign, illegally importing Walkie-Talkies, and the use of non-licensed radio.
Incitement, defined as the spread of false or inflammatory information that can disrupt public order, is sometimes referred to as seduction and can be sentenced to three years in prison.
This case involves a statement posted on his League Facebook page for the Democratic Party after he and other party leaders have been detained.
All processes against Suu Kyi are closed for the public and the press.
He was detained by the military in an undisclosed location in Naypyitaw.
The co-cleaning on the incitement was a former Vice President won Myint and former Mayor of Naypyitaw, Myo Aung.
All have denied the allegations.
Winning wins scheduled to testify on October 12, and Myo Aung on November 2 was also faced with additional cases, Suu Kyi aged 76 years on Tuesday was applied to the court to hold a Monday and Tuesday session only every two weeks.
Health reasons.
The court is expected to rule at his request on October 12.
In the separate trial Suu Kyi on Friday about corruption allegations, the former political ally testified, he had submitted a large amount of cash and gold.
Suu Kyi faced four allegations of corruption in the process, each of which brought a penalty in prison sentences of up to 15 years, the longest prison period of several violations that had been sued.
Preparations also began to try it for violating official secret law, which brought a maximum prison term of 14 years.
The military seized power right before Suu Kyi and her national league for democracy would start the second five-year term in the office.
It was said that it was acting because the election last November was damaged by fraud that was widespread, a widely doubtful statement.
Protests for the takeover of the army continued, and had left more than 1,000 civilians, along with armed resistance to grow.
