Coimbatore: Swine flu has appeared in the city for the first time this year with two people testing positive infections on Sunday.
They underwent treatment at a private hospital in Pealamedu.
A health official with City Corporation said the two infected were parents – a 63-year-old woman from Puram Hospital and a 68-year-old woman from Pealamedu.
“They are not related and praise from various parts of the city.” The official said both had symptoms similar to Covid-19 and approached private hospitals for Covid-19 testing.
While they were tested negatively for Covid-19, they were found infected with swine flu.
The official said family members and contacts were infected with carefully monitored.
